NYC Recap.

NYC was a phenomenal trip; Brad and I planned it just the week before!  We had a meeting on Saturday morning with an old friend of Brad’s that happens to be a designer with Ralph Lauren.  Pretty sweet, huh?  She’s basically living my life.  :)

The photo below was on our trip into the city from the airport.  You could smell the city from miles away.  Ah, the smell of shopping, good food and a large population of people all in one area.  Bliss.

We wasted no time and caught a late lunch at the Manhattan Bistro in SoHo.

That night we walked all over SoHo and I had to buy a coat because it was f-r-r-r-r-reezing.  I mean….COLD.  Later that night we hit up Roxy’s on Times Square for a little late night sustenance.  Namely, Oreo cheesecake.

It even had a cream cheese icing on the top.  Y’all.  I can’t make this stuff up.

I totally ate Brad under the table.  It’s a gift, what can I say?The next morning, after our meeting we visited The Designer’s Market in the Meatpacking District.  Yes, I’m fully aware that I am not only wearing the colors of my good friend Ronald McDonald, but I also match the sign.  No, I don’t really want to talk about it.  It was cold, remember?  That’s my story at least and I’m sticking to it!We had lunch at Chelsea Market.  This venue for dozens of restaurants, shops and bakeries (it also houses Food Network) is a must see if you are ever in the city.  After Chelsea Market, we took a stroll and came upon the Kate Spade bus.  Certainly not a sight I see in Henry County on a regular basis but it was so fun!  I reeeaaalllyyyy wanted to take these shoes home with me…but even with Brad’s blessing I just couldn’t pull the trigger.  I’m such a girl.  There we go again.  And there I go matching the bus.  It’s apparently my mission to match all of the signage in NYC.  Everyone’s gotta have goals, right? That night we had a nice dinner and then saw Wicked.  I know we are so behind on the hip Broadway shows but I have wanted to see it forever and never had the opportunity.  It really was as fantastic as everyone says and I highly recommend it!We loved every minute of the trip and did not want to come home!

The only bad part about the trip was that once we got home we had a rude awakening of a baby with bronchitis.  No.  Fun.  So while I’m at home all week nursing my angel back to 100%, I’ll remember the solo Elphaba sang Defying Gravity.  Loved this part in the musical!  Can’t wait to head to back into the city again soon!

Love Wicked! I’m not ashamed to admit that I own the soundtrack…
