So one thing that I have had a hard time with as a mom, probably isn’t what you would think. Naturally, the busy days and ever growing children pose a hold back at times; however this issue is deeper. This issue affects each of us as a mom because we inevitably must be prepared at all times. It’s basically like the rule. You leave the hospital with your baby and the nurse tells you as you walk are wheeled out to the car that you no longer get to carry the cute fashionable purses. No No. Those days are over. Along with your sweet swaddled blessing are given the gift of…the mom bag.
Anyone that tells you that all diaper bags are alike are LYING. I have gone through about 50 diaper bags (not really, but at least 3 or 4) trying to find a stylish option that is functional. One that can hold my things and girl-baby’s things as well. And don’t forget everything that Brad throws at me to carry as well. I’m basically a pack-mule and have just now realized it. Oh well. Thus is life. I’m really ok with it but a sister has GOT to have a good looking bag. Can I get an Amen!?

Now, before we go any further, let me clarify that this is not a diaper bag. I repeat: This is not a diaper bag. Honestly for the last 6 months or so I just carry big purses. Since Rowan is 16 months old my load has changed, but not neccessarily lightened. I don’t carry diapers with me anymore. I leave them in the car and always change her in the back of my SUV. So no more diapers. I do carry wipes but a super small pack. But now I have the toys, snacks and cups to tote along.
But no worries. I don’t mind since I get to carry this bag. Here are a few of the things I love about it.
- It was cheap but doesn’t look like it. Got it from the Limited (couldn’t find it online, sorry) and it was half off so I got it for around $45. Major score in my book for a great looking bag.
- I love that it’s not too precious. Its obviously fake leather so therefore it wipes off easily. In addition, I don’t feel like I’m paranoid to use it. Real leather stains and gets scratched easily-obviously that would last for about 1 day in my life.
- It has two LARGE compartments. One for girl-baby’s things and the other for mine. Not to be dramatic, but the two compartments were basically life changing for me. No more animal crackers in my wallet? Yes, please!
And just a little funny to let you know what stage we are in right now. I was just trying to pick her up to get a picture and this is what I get:
*Sigh* Just trying to keep it real here, folks. Just trying to keep it real. She was so mad because she wanted down! At least the next time she throws her sippy cup from her highchair onto my purse, I’ll be able to wipe that milk right off. It is the little things after all, right?
